Web site and its security will give you a peace of mind while business is on the go.

Security Measures on the Process of Web Designing

For those who are planning to make a website or even web improvement, there are precautionary measure that needs to be consider to protect your website. Web site and its security will give you a peace of mind while business is on the go.

I will share to you the top of the lists well-proven and tested precautionary measures so you will have the peace of mind while the web is running smoothly. First on the list is identifying the security risks and have it assessed. It is important that you classify the factors and have it checked on the policy. There must also be a person responsible to take care of it. Assign somebody to take care every leakage. If the web has a very simple data, then you can just implement basic guidelines. But if it is very sensitive, you may consider an analysis that will identity any possible threats that the website requires which can help the development team.

Take a quick view of the entire website. It not just about security, after a secured process is applied, make sure that you review your website and information's must be accurate, complying with the standards and laws, avoid any unauthorized use of materials, compatible to most users, and must be fast and easy to access. Don't trust anyone your data. Data leakages is very rampant, make it sure that your computer is secured with a password and even your data plan. All types and kinds of back ups must be secured with its input and output. The fourth procedure is to review and analyze every post to be created on the web. It must go thru an approval process by the committee.

Facilitate the job of the web designer. It is given that software's always contains error. But with full facilitation and proper action, it can be minimized until the project is finished. Standards and guidelines must be implemented with secured application. After the program is applied, have it tested and make it sure that you uses the proper software for this. This check up would include availability of the application. Logs must be backtracked. In this case, we can avoid cases of incidents and other possible damaged as we can detect the threats coming in. Early warning is very important in this category so we will be aware of the incoming software problem any other forms of viruses and threats.

Deployment of the website must be secured with proper check and tests. Test environment and the live ones are totally different from each other. There might have some function that is not applicable in the test environment but may alter on the live environment. Test and check after making the website available is very crucial. And then the level agreement must be reviewed so the web will be secured even though the website is freely launched and is available for viewing. This may include agreement from contractors, sub- contractors, and even from suppliers. Breaches of security will be identified in the future. And the last thing is the recovery if there would be a possible loss of any data's.

Why Google cannot and will not penalise websites that have more than 100 links on a web page.

Dispelling Google's 100 Link Limit Myth
Why is it that so many people think having more than 100 links on a webpage is going to get you banned or black flagged by Google? and how did Google gain so much power over the way we us website designers build our websites to the point that we think they dictate how many links we can have?

Well, lets face facts, Google own the search market. Almost 70% of World Wide Internet users, use Google as their preferred search engine. In Australia its closer to 90%. Google now run the search market and certainly at this point in time they have the best search algorithms and the best results shown in the SERP's.

Do we have to pander to Google and the way they want us to build and exist on the Internet in the form of our websites? Does this mean that we should have less than 100 links on any given web page just because we are scared of what they may think?

Well, I am fairly sure most of us have a list of friends that could extend well past 100 people - if each of these have a website and we then put links from a contacts page on our website can we reasonably expect Google to look at this page unfavourably? Probably not. So, maybe the 100 links is just a guideline not to get too carried away with links on web pages? Probably so!

Another good example of a website page that often has more than 100 links is a sitemap page - most websites have a sitemap and in many cases the list of links extends well beyond 100 - particulary for product catalogs and product ranges and yet they are not getting banned? It is most likely that website links that point to other internal web pages are treated differently.

Google and its search algorithms are very smart so their is much evidence that they can tell the difference between a legitimate list of 200 links on a website and a web page with the very same website links that is designed only for the purposes of a link farm.

So, to this end, lets dispell the rumours, myths and put an end to this 100 link limit. Build your website the way you want, with as many links as you, set out and structured how you want. Forget about limiting the amount of links if it is appropriate for you to be putting that many links on a website on one web page. Be smart, think like a search engine would when it looks at a webpage. Don't link to 100's of other websites from one webpage but don't be scared to link from your website.

How to win new graphic design clients and keep old ones coming back

Everybody likes to see big fat pay cheques coming in, hell some of us even deserve them from time to time but what makes a client keep handing over the readies over and over again and how can you as a lowly graphic designer among a sea of equally unidentifiable no-marks hope to secure new graphic design or website design contracts? Best read on my friends as we give you the insider knowledge to equip you in this never ending rat race to swindle your fellow man

A winning smile costs nothing
Think back over the last week or so and see if you can remember anyone giving you the time of day in the street, a simple 'good morning' or a cheery smile from a beautiful stranger as you go about your daily routine. It didn't happen did it? Why? Because you've got a face like a bag of spanners, you're walking around as miserable as sin and you're giving off bad vibes. In short your whole lousy operation stinks. So how do we turn this around? Next time you have a new client down to the office for a meeting, go up to them and plant a big sloppy kiss on their forehead. You never know they might turn around and sign that big 5 figure sum graphic design contract.

It's not all about the money
Sometimes, the old adage 'a dog is for life - not just for christmas' rings chillingly true. If you've ever considered or contemplated suicide based on the fact your clients have been leaving in droves and the only regular graphic design job you've secured in the last 3 months is a flyer design for 'disco Stu's' 70's night down at the church hall - on a wednesday night, then it's high time you looked at yourself square in the mirror and worked out why. Bad breath? Crooked teeth? Inability to stop yourself scratching your privates in public? No, the real reason your clients are leaving you high and dry is because you're too mean. Throw in a few freebies, offer to cook your client a lovely lasagna dinner for two, buy them a kinder surprise. Anything to curry favour that isn't going to break the bank is worth its weight in gold. And that's a fact, fact fans!

Dress to impress
Anyone who was anyone in the eighties will remember 'power dressing'. 6 inch stiletto heels, shoulder pads set to stun and low cut tops with peep hole bras. By and large businessmen today are reluctant to go back to cross dressing in order to win that all important contract and prefer to go along the tried and tested route of wearing dull grey slacks and loafers. Remember Elton John didn't get where he is today by dressing like the boy next door.

Brainstorm until you haemorrage
If you can't work out why you're losing money hand over fist and your client base has dried up to a thin wafer like crust, get your team involved and crack some skulls! Sometimes the best people to tell you where you're going wrong are your terrified and hate filled staff. Jim over in scanning has been sat there feeding off his resentment for not fulfilling his life for the last 10 years. Use him - he's got a brain up there hasn't he? Margaret the lady who comes by the office to sell sandwiches - again, could she be put to better use sat in the spare room paid to think up a marketing strategy to win over your rivals clients? If not think and think again until it hurts. Remember its your ass on the line here. Above all remember 'skull cracking' is fun and if a few eggs get broken in the process, hey that's life in the fast lane buddy.

Delegate, don't vegetate
We've all done it at some stage. Tried to cope when our world is falling apart, attempting to juggle the accounts, the graphic design work you have in and trying to bone up on web design for beginners in order to make ends meat. Here's a tip. Don't bother. That's right you heard. Research has shown that the best way to overcome a problem or situation is to sleep on it. If you've just about had a basin full its time to hit the sack and forget about it. Take it easy, kick back and have a beer. Feels good doesn't it. Don't forget to always have someone on hand who can cut the slack when you've lost the plot. A right hand man is someone to offload problems onto at a moments notice and then slink back to your chair safe in the knowledge he probably isn't going to quit his job any time soon what with a new baby at home and a mortgage hanging over his shoulders. Too many graphic design managers just do't know when to distribute the work. Remember the immortal words of Homer Simpson 'If a jobs worth doing well, don't bother"

Right, you're now armed with some invaluable insider information to get things back on track. Don't screw up and you'll do just fine. Now get out there and nail that son of a gun.
