Adsense Income...3 Easy Steps.

1. You need to sign up for an Adsense account. It's a simple process, but you will have a short wait while your site is approved. Once your website is approved you are free to use Adsense ads on any site you have, but just because you don't need to have the other sites approved you will still need to make sure you are following the Adsense terms. They are very strict and if you are caught breaking their terms you stand the risk of having your account suspended.

2. Building your pages will be your next step. The key to this is finding a keyword that has a lot of demand, but not a lot of competition. If you want to go the free route you can use nichebot to find the demand and the competion. If you have the money you will get a much better selection of keywords with Wordtracker. You want to use the keyword in the title of your page and in the body of the page a few times. For content you can write your own or you can visit an article directory and find a good article to use on your page, if you do that look for an article that has your keyword in the body a few times. If you do use someone elses article be sure there bio is included on your site, that is the reason they allow you to use their article.

3. We are ready to add the Adsense ads to the site now. You are allowed to use three ads, A good placement of the ads should be one at the top of the page, one vertical ad on the right side, and one ad at the bottom. If you decide to use just one ad I would put it at the top of the page. The Asense ads will have a border around them, but most people remove that by changing the color of the border the same color of the page, so if your page is white just change the border color white and you won't see the border. You want the ad to blend in to your page as much as possible.

Ok, now it's just a matter of just waiting for traffic and you can start getting paid each time someone clicks on the Adsense ads. It may take awhile to get your pages indexed, so in the mean time you might need to write a few articles to get a little traffic to your site. There are other ways to build sites, some people use programs that will build thousands of pages quickly, but I think the search engines have been able to identify most of those types of sites so I don't recommend using them. If you are looking for a faster way to get sites up I would recommend buying some of the ready made Adsense sites, Most of them are well built with all the bells and whistles and not very expensive.

Good Luck!

The Big Adsventure, Or: My Google AdSense Adventure

Join me on my AdSense Adventure, I'll be trying different AdSense tips & tricks. This will be a little different than all the other 'get rich quick' guides: instead of telling you what to do I let you watch me try it all...

Let me tell you about my trial and error path trying to make some money with Google AdSense™. I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of websites on this subject already. Many of them tell you how you can make a 6 figure income with only a couple of hours work a week. They will even tell you exactly how to achieve this. Just buy their e-book and you’ll have all the tips and tricks from the pros.

I’m quite skeptical about these offers. Doing my own research on the Google AdSense™ subject, I’ve found quite a few people who paid for the e-book but are very unhappy about it. They all tell me that the information they paid for was very useful, but is also freely available. The great thing about the Internet is that you can find information on any subject for free. It’s not allways easy to find the information you are looking for, but if you know how and where to search you can find almost anything. If you are not very skilled in finding information on the 'net maybe you should just go ahead and buy the e-book but keep in mind that the e-book will be the author's view on the subject. Your own search will give you a better view of the big picture. Of course, finding the information will take some effort and time. To me the search for information is part of the adventure, a part that I don’t want to skip.

So lets get rich with Google AdSense™! Ok, back to reallity: do you really think you can get a 6 figure income from Google AdSense™? I’m sure some people do make a small fortune with AdSense™ but I bet it takes a lot more work then those e-book writers tell you.

I registered with Google AdSense™ back in December 2004. After one year my total earnings had reached $25. Yes I know that is about the price of the amount of beer you drink in one hour at the bar. Still this has been easy money: I don’t think it took me more than 20 minutes to sign up with Google and add the AdSense™ code to my website.
This year will be different: I will try to get some serious income from AdSense™. I’m not expecting a 6 figure income and I’m not giving up my job. My goal is to get a check from Google every month (for those of you who don’t know, Google sends out checks each month to people who have made over $100).

Wording Up Your Website

Are you losing business because of your website? More and more customers are logging on to the Web to decide where to spend their money because it is quick and convenient, and they can jump from site to site instead of walking from store to store. Web savvy customers don't need to be patient, studies have shown that you need to engage a potential customer very quickly by giving them easy, fast access to the information they need. Otherwise they will simply move on to the next site.

Appealing design and speedy functionality are important but they don't ensure that your site is well structured (intuitive) or well written (clear).

Write FirstThe real message on most websites is in the writing, and so it makes sense that the writing should determine the structure. Unfortunately, this is not the usual case. Most businesses choose the structure and design of their site first and then try and fit the writing around that structure. This flies in the face of commonsense. When you speak to someone, you structure your speech around your message, you don't decide on a structure then change the message to suit. So you need to plan what you want to say before you create the site. Maybe even write the whole thing first and then use the message to determine the structure.

When deciding what to write, think about what your customer wants to know rather than what you want to say. It's a subtle difference, but it is the key to engaging a potential customer.

Most customers will want to know the basics:

- What do you do? - What benefit can you offer them? - Why should they choose your service or product? - What does it cost? - How can they contact you? - Where are you located?

Brevity & ClarityYour website has to communicate a lot of information and to make matters worse, you are going to have limited space. Ideally, your customer won't have to scroll on any page (all your information will fit in a single window) and that single view will need to contain more than just words. The design and navigation elements take up about a third of a window, and you should leave a bit of room for white space (you don't want to overwhelm the customer). As a rule of thumb you should expect to have about half the window free for text.

How you are going to fit all your information in such a confined space? This is where writing skills come in - choose your words very carefully.

Websites can be an extremely powerful piece of marketing collateral. You can reach millions of potential customers for as little as a few hundred dollars. Unfortunately, your competitors are all doing the same thing - it's a level playing field but there are a lot of players.

It is important that your message is structured and well thought out, otherwise your site will be a mess and no-one will bother to read about your business. If your message is clear, your site will be simple and easy to use. It's all in the words.

You Work Hard For Traffic – Get It To Convert

Getting your traffic to convert first requires that you understand a few parameters. To have a clue regarding how you are doing, you need to understand server statistics and conversion ratios.

I am continually amazed at the number of sites that do not look at their server statistics. Your server stats are incredibly important because they tell you how many people are coming to your site, where they are coming from, how they found you, how many are turning into customers and, if not, what pages they are leaving from. Without this information, you are just guessing at how well your convert traffic. Don’t. Once you start looking at server stats, you need to determine your conversion ratio. The conversion ratio is the number of sales you get per visitor to the site.

Importantly, it is not the number of sales per hit. A visitor may generate multiple hits, so just focus on visitor statistics. Some stats programs refer to visitors as “sessions.” Regardless, conversion ratios vary by product or service. Some may be as low as 1 in 25 visitors while others will be much higher. If you convert at anything over 1 in 500, the site probably needs some serious tweaks unless you are in an extremely competitive or general market.
Making your convert is all about providing a convenient solution for your prospects. You should review your site from this perspective. Is it easy to find and buy a product or do you have to click through four or five pages? Make it as simple as possible.

Advertising links can cause poor sales. Many people make the mistake of having their advertising link to their home page. If your advertising refers to a specific service or product on your site, the advertising should click through directly to that page. Never make your prospects hunt for what they are looking for on the site. Many of them will not do it.

As strange as it may sound, the load time of your site can kill your sales. Remember, 40 percent of Internet users are still on dial-up modems. While your site might load quickly when you look at it on your cable, T1 or DSL connection, how does it do on a 56k modem? Don’t guess. Go find one and try to load your site. If you have a lot of graphics, you are going to be in for a shock!

Even if your site loads quickly, most ecommerce sites have time glitches on the order page. This glitch occurs when the customer fills out the order information and clicks the processing button. Sites can grind to a halt as they convert to the secure credit card processing system. This is such a prevalent problem that a majority of ecommerce sites will lose up to 40 percent of their sales on the order page. Make sure your site loads quickly, particularly the order page.
Improving your conversion rates is all about understanding how your site performs. If you can focus on your subject and get the site to load quickly, you should see dramatic improvement.

Use Pictures On Your Blog To Boost Traffic Starting Now.

Blogs that use pictures are shown to be accessed more often than plain text blogs. If you are looking for an interesting way to boost traffic to your site, you might want to think about including pictures. Adding pictures to your blog is typically not a hard task. Most blogging programs will have areas in which you can quickly and easily add pictures. Keep in mind that if you are involved in a program such as Google Adsense, pictures won’t always correspond as well for your ads as text will however. Overall pictures provide readers with a better understanding of what you are trying to convey over your blog. If you are wondering why pictures boost traffic, consider these explanations.

Scanability:

One surefire way to boost traffic on your blog is to create a blog with a high level of scanability. When your blog can be easily scanned for content, viewers are more likely to want to visit your blog again. Experts say that it takes almost 25% more energy for the eyes and brain to read words on a computer in contrast with reading them on paper. Therefore, although readers may not know it, they are likely to read much less on their computer screen. This is because it takes longer to read the words and uses up more energy.

Sixty percent of the people who read your blog will not read it word for word. They will simply scan through it looking for your main points. They almost always read the headlines and also look at the pictures. Pictures always help make your blog more easily scanned because they offer a break for the eyes and the brain. The eyes and brain will look at the picture in a different manner than they look at words on a blog. Offering the eyes and brain a “break” will allow your blog to be scanned easily. In turn, when it can be scanned easily, the readers will keep coming.

Keeping the Interest:

One thing that bloggers tend to do is go on and on about one thing endlessly. It is important to limit each post to a small amount of words because if you don’t, your reader will get bored. To avoid losing a reader’s interest you can shorten posts and bring your main point to the forefront. You can also add pictures to your blog. Adding pictures is the perfect way to keep the interest of your readers. If you are talking about a lovely plant you have grown in your yard or an unusual looking dog you just adopted, consider adding a picture of it to your blog.

You would be surprised at how much more traffic you can bring to your site. People will be able to connect more with you about the subject you are posting about. They will be able to laugh with you at pictures you find funny and admire those that you treasure. You will be maintaining a “friendship” through your pictures with your readers.

If you want to add pictures to your blog, you might want to consider investing in a digital camera, if you don’t already have one. This will make putting the pictures onto your computer a much easier task to begin with. After you master this task, read the “help” information on your blogging software to understand how you need to add the pictures to your blog. Pay special attention to any size requirements or suggestions. Some blogs will only allow a specific amount of space for graphics, so you will need to be aware of that amount.

Adding pictures to your blog is a great way to allow your blog to be easily scanned and to keep the interest of your readers. When you do use pictures you will see your improvements easily. Your readers will return to see what you have to say and new visitors will be interested and entertained. By connecting with those who read your blog via pictures, you will be building lasting relationships with your readers. Just be careful about what types of pictures you add. You should not post someone on your blog without their permission so if you are posting a photo of someone you know, be sure to ask them first.
