Adwords, Adsense, SEO – Common Denominator, Keywords

If you have just put up a website, you probably all ready have heard words like: keywords, Google Adwords, Google Adsense, SEO. Adwords, Adsense, SEO have one thing in common – Keywords. How important are keywords? Very Important.

Google Adwords:

Adwords, be it through Google, Miva, or any pay-per-click search engines, you need keywords. With Adwords, you create a three-line ad – 25 word title, with two 35 word lines of ad copy – then you create your keywords. To get the hits, you have to brainstorm for different keywords, that are different but relevant to your target audience. Sound easy? It’s not. It takes time, patience, constant tweaking, and hoping that the product you are selling is not already saturated -- to much competition, makes it a little more difficult for the novice to make a profit.

Google Adsense:

Google Adsense is an advertising program created by Google, and which is beginning to be explored by other search engines, such as Yahoo and MSN – that allows you to put targeted ads on your website. If someone clicks on the ad, you earn a small amount of money. These ads are keyword driven and are relevant to your webpage or website.
Sounds simple? Well, not really. There is more too it than just putting an ad on your website and expecting someone to click on it. What’s involved? Let’s see – color, position, style, to name just a few.

Search engine optimization – this for me has been a time-consuming process – since I am still learning. SEO is keyword driven – the search engines pull the keywords from your web copy – not, to my surprise, from the meta keywords tag. Granted, I still use the meta keywords tag, but maybe in the near future, I will slowly eliminate the tag from my webpages. The search engines do, however, pull information from Meta Description, Meta Title, and the content of your webpages. Thus, content does reign supreme.

Since content reigns supreme, each page should contain useful content and most importantly, your most relevant keywords that you want to emphasize. Secondly, it is best to try and base your keywords around a central theme. I have found that when the keywords diverts away from the main theme – that sends a red flag to search engines. So, if you want to look at your keywords and the density of the keywords on your webpage or webpages – You can get a quick rundown at: http://imtiaztips.t35.com/index.html
. It’s a free tool, and very helpful.

To conclude, keywords is one of the main ingredients that leads people to your website, product, service and/or ad. …AND, keywords based around your quality content will help with your positioning on your website.

The Latest Page Rank Update From Google

I am not sure how many people have noticed or even care, but there seems to have been another page rank update from Google. This update is very strange however and things are happening that are a lot different from anything I have ever seen before.

I first noticed a difference when I went and looked at one of my websites which is only three weeks old. The site in question had previously had no page rank due to being a very new website and in those three weeks since its launch, I had probably obtained twenty or thirty one-way backward links pointing to it. To my amazement it was now showing as a page rank five.

I have a number of websites one of which is around five years old, it has over four thousand backward links and is a page rank four. After seeing my new site go straight in at page rank five, I quickly went to see how this older site had faired in this new update, it had not changed. After checking all of my websites, I have realised that the sites which had a page rank have all stayed the same, however the ones which had previously a page rank of zero, now have a page rank and have seemingly been a part of the new update.

A few hours later I was looking at one of my other websites which has a homepage page rank of two. This is where things began to become a bit weird. I noticed that its external pages had now become a page rank four but the homepage was still only a PR2.

What is all that about?

The backward links are mainly pointing to the homepage so how can this page have a lower PR than the external pages? I thought I knew a little bit about page rank but this has thrown me some what. I then started to look at the various posts in different search engine forums and other people were writing that they have experienced the same as what I had with their websites.

It maybe of course that what we are seeing is just the start of a big page rank update, which is what I am hoping. What I also find quite strange is that there is normally quite a large break between updates. On average this can be anywhere between three and four months. If my memory serves me correct, I am virtually sure that we have only just seen a page rank update in the middle of February.

Are we now going to see more regular updates?

I have heard as I am sure you have, that there have been a few changes at google in the last few weeks. They have been rolling out what they call bigdaddy and this could certainly have something to do with it.

I am going to keep an eye on further changes as some people that I read about in the forums, did state that they had seen updates to their older websites as well as their newer sites. I am still waiting and wondering if it will happen. I have to say that so far this latest update has been a good one for me personally and I will continue in my quest to obtain as many quality one-way backward links pointing to my websites as possible.

This form of website promotion has worked for me in the past and in my opinion is far better than joining any link exchange scheme.

Create Beautiful Color Schemes For Your Website With A Single Click.

ColorImpact is an award winning software for creating harmonious color schemes. The program is based on the color wheel used by artists for centuries. The artist's use of complementary colors, or colors opposite on the color wheel, creates an exciting painting.

There are a lot of great tools in ColorImpact, such as Matching Colors Wheel, Color Variations, Color Blender and Test Patterns. The Main Menu area is like a control center for this program and lets you explore the color tools.

The color tools let you adjust colors in the palette in order to better suit your needs. For example, the Color Variations panel lets you add and modify variations to the colors in the color palette, while the Color Blender gives you the power to create intermediary colors between any two end colors.

But the most useful tool for niche website builders is the Color Composer, that allows you to experiment and see how your color schemes look when used on real web page designs.

Color Composer:

The Color Composer is an advanced color scheme designer for web pages. The flexible user interface allows you to combine one of several html templates with a number of predefined and user defined color formulas or preselected colors.

Want a quick set of pleasantly looking and harmonious colors for your new website? Simply launch the Color Composer and pick a Formula Base Color. The base color window pops up. It is a flexible color picker that gives you full control when selecting the base color.

Pick the base color, and the Composer will instantly give you color suggestions for the following main elements of a webpage:

* Page Header: Background, Logo and Top Bar
* Sidebar: Background, Heading, Heading Background, Menu Item and Menu Item Background
* Content: Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, Text, Background
* Links

Play with it! Pick colors from the Base Color circle and see how good the Composer is in selecting the best matches for webpage elements. When you're done, click File > Export Colors… and save you color scheme as a CSS file.

Creating a color scheme for your website has never been this easy:

Note: This review intentionally refers to an older version of the ColorImpact, known as ColorImpact Classic. Although, ColorImpact version 3 is available, in my opinion, the Color Composer in the Classic version is easier to use and more intuitive.

ColorImpact has a well organized and intuitive user interface and an extensive help documentation.

Ways To Beat The Blog Spammers

Spamming blog’s can also be known as blog spam, comment spam and splogs. All of these are known as spamdexing. Any website that accepts and displays hyperlinks may well become a target of blog spamming.
The spamming of blogs, forums, chat rooms, etc is when comments are automatically posted that are promoting spammers sites. These comments rarely feature any text and normally just consist of the spammers link.

By doing this spammers are increasing there search engine ranking, which can result in the spammers site being listed ahead of other sites. Spammers use these chat rooms, forums, blogs, etc to post links back to their site because it is a way of getting people to visit their site and, sadly, sometimes spend money on the spammers products.

Blog spamming originates from guestbook spamming. Spammers would visit sites only to fill the sites guestbook up with numerous links taking you to their site. Guestbook’s were intended to be used by genuine visitors to the site, for them to comment on the use of the site. Spammers rarely even bother to add a comment to the various links they are posting; if they do it would simply say something like “cool site.”

In 2003 spammers really started to take advantage of the fact they could get away with posting in blogs, forums, etc. Many blog sites and forums started to add software to try and stop the spammers, but as the technology grew so did the spammers knowledge of how to get around it. Spammers started using tools such as Trackback Submitter, which allowed spammers to get around comment spam protection.

There are certain things that site owners can do to stop spammers posting. Validation tests are a way of blocking spam comments on forums, blogs, etc. A validation test is a way of showing that an actual person is posting a comment and that the comment isn’t just being automated.

A Captcha test is like a validation test, again it makes it clear that a comment is being posted by a human and not just being automated. A captcha is a combination of numbers and letters that are embedded in an image. The combination of letters and numbers has to be entered correctly in order for your comment to be posted. Spammers are already trying to get around the captcha test, with many spam tools having text recognition built into them, this is why the numbers/letters that are embedded into the image are slightly distorted so they can’t be picked up by the text recognition. However site owners have to be careful when using a captcha test as some of them are case sensitive and with the distortion of the letters it can become difficult to recognize if the letters are in lower or upper case.

Validation tests can also put some people off posting comments because the tests can sometimes be seen as a nuisance.

When spammers post comments containing website links as a way of trying to get their site at a higher ranking in the search engines, they will be faced with the possibility of their efforts failing as many links relating to spam sites, are getting altered to that Google, amongst other search engines won’t include them in the search engine ranking at all.
Spam is something that the Internet could do without but will never truly get rid of. It is important that you protect your email account and website as much as you can against spammers.

Online Computer Degrees, The Key To Success?

Computers are a vital business resource in today’s market. Where several years ago they were a helpful tool, now they are a necessity. Computers have taken an integral part in both personal and professional life. Because of this, many new computer jobs have opened up. From programming to maintenance, computer technology is here to stay. Many people who started working with computers did so in their own time and obtained a vast knowledge by independent learning. This experience can be used to earn a more formal degree and increase earning potential by obtaining an online computer degree.

Computer science, technology, information systems and programming are a few of the computer degrees available online. Online computer degrees offer the flexibility of learning from home. This can be especially beneficial to people who are already working or have family responsibilities. Time constraints can hamper these people from attending traditional classes with rigid schedules, residency and attendance requirements. An online computer degree can solve this problem by allowing people to learn at their own pace, at their own time.

Stay at home parents are ideal candidates for online computer degrees. While the children are at school, the parent can study and take courses online at their computer. They are not missing any responsibilities they have with their children and are using the free time they have to further their education. After a degree is obtained, the parent has more potential for getting employment outside the home. People with degrees generally earn more money even in an entry level position. This can allow the parent to be able to afford day care and have a second income.

Even if a parent chooses to remain home after getting an online computer degree, there are many work-from-home opportunities that are available. One can easily do freelance work in programming or systems administration with a computer degree. These jobs are high paying and have flexible hours. However, without a formal education these types of positions are hard to come by.

Most colleges and universities offer some type of online computer degree program. If there are no local colleges, a quick search on the Internet will result in many options. The majority of the work and learning is accomplished online. Occasionally, you may need to take a test at an authorized testing center. Most of these can be schedules at convenient times and work with local facilities for convenience. Generally, there is no long distance travel nor large blocks of time required.

Obtaining an online computer degree is also usually less expensive than traditional college courses. Because there is no need for a dedicated teacher and classroom facilities, the cost for teaching a student online is much less. Therefore, most online degree programs are less expensive. Many programs also allow you to pay per class as you take classes. Traditional methods have you pay for the entire semester regardless of the number of classes taken. Online classes can help you budget better for an affordable, valuable education.

Obtaining a higher education is becoming more important as people compete for jobs. Having a solid education will give you many more job options and grant a higher earning potential. An online computer degree will allow the flexibility to learn at your own pace while obtaining an education that will have a great deal of value. Since computers are here to stay and we will only see advances in this technology, earning an online computer degree is a great way to advance your education.

Computers - how they have advanced

Even over the last decade, the advances in computer technology have been immense. Computers can do more today than ever before, faster and at a better value price. Unfortunately, this also means that shopping for a computer can be confusing, as it is hard to know what you actually need and what is just an extra that’s nice to have. Hopefully this article can clear up a few of the mysteries for you.

First of all, let’s look at processors. The two main companies producing processors today are Intel (Pentium processors) and AMD (Athlon processors). Although fanatics on each side swear otherwise, there is little difference between them, performance-wise. In almost all cases, more expensive processors will simply run faster.

However, it is important to consider that the performance of your processor can be limited by how much memory (RAM) your computer has. For high-end processors, you should make sure to get at least a gigabyte of RAM, although lower-end systems will be fine with less. RAM is especially important if you plan to use the system for gaming or other graphics-intensive applications.

Hard disk space, at this point, probably isn’t worth caring too much about. Even the cheapest computers now come with ridiculous amounts of hard disk space, far more than you are ever likely to use. It is much better to upgrade to a DVD re-writer drive than to upgrade your hard disk space. DVDs hold so much data that however big your hard drive is, it is unlikely to hold more than a cheap spindle of DVD-RW discs – and they’re re-writable, so you only need to buy them once.

The only other thing you really need to worry about is the graphics card (sound cards are all the same these days). Again, if you’re going to be doing anything graphically-intensive, then research this further and get a good one (be warned that it can be expensive). For the average user, though, the graphics card that comes with the processor is likely to be fine, even for many less-demanding or older games.

A Few Computer Lessons To Get You On The Right Path

Even just having a basic working knowledge of how to use a computer and how to use the internet will drastically increase the amount of things you can do and open a lot of doors that would otherwise be shut for you.

Indeed, if you are still working or looking for employment (i.e.; not yet retired) knowing how to use a computer will allow you to do a world of different jobs you never would have been able to before.

You are extremely limited in the kind of work you can do without any knowledge of computers, so it is well worth whatever the fees are for a computer lesson or two.

Of course, if you are reading this you probably already have at least a basic knowledge of computers because you are online right now. Even if you already know the basic skills to use the internet and some simple programs like word processors or spread sheet programs, an additional computer lesson or two can still be very valuable.

Most programs have loads of features above and beyond the more obvious ones. Word for Windows and Excel, for example, may seem pretty self-explanatory initially, but with a couple of computer lesson you can do things you never would have even dreamed before with even such standard programs.

Even operating systems, like Windows XP or the Mac OS series have loads of features and nuances that a few computer lessons can expose for you.

I took some night school classes held at a local high school on the beast of a program that is Adobe Photoshop a while back, and the computer lessons were invaluable to me. I have just begun to crack the surface of that particular program and yet I can do things with photos I never would have imagined before.

Live classes are probably the most effective way to get a computer lesson, but another thing I recommend is buying computer courses in the form of interactive CD-ROMs or DVDs to be played on your computer.

These can be done at your own convenience, in the comfort of your home, and are generally less expensive. One I recommend is ‘Video Professor’. His commercials are kind of annoying, but they are very affordable computer lessons and cover the basics for most programs you’d ever use.

Surprisingly Internet Marketing and Website Design seem to be clashing rather than complimenting each other and working together.

Website development is an important and crucial first step to creating an online business. The investment made in your website design can be a large investment and you probably want a website that is an extension of your business and display your products or service in a professional way. Beware, just because a website is amazing to look at, this does not mean it work well with all of your Internet Marketing efforts.

Most of the time the websites are created with out the thought or planning of good quality content, sites are also employing mainly flash design as well as complicated navigation set up making exploring your site frustrating.Surprisingly Internet Marketing and Website Design seem to be clashing rather than complimenting each other.

What causes a beautiful, appealing website to fall short in search engines?

Most cases seem to point to the fact that some website designers do not consider the importance of Internet Marketing when putting together websites for there customers. Some web designers seem to be strictly focused on the graphical components and forget or do know about the Search Engine Marketing, Internet Marketing aspects of most websites.

Internet Marketing may be less of an importance if site is mainly a Business to Business website but in the ecommerce business, websites really depend on SEO Internet Marketing for its overall success.

Websites that fall short in Internet Marketing can lead to very expensive and needed redesigns for your site, changing different components of your pages to make it search engine friendly as well as easy navigation for site exploration although some changes may be less extreme than others. This can cause major set backs in business goals. Build and design your website around the content not the other way around.

Before you decide on a website designer, make positive that the design will be user friendly as well as friendly for Internet Marketing procedures. Shop around, ask questions, see if the designer understands the importance of certain SEO priorities and keep them informed about what your looking to accomplish.

Design a site that is easily expandable as well as easily adjusted to fit your Internet Marketing, SEO needs or have your SEO Consultant suggest a web designer to work with, insuring everything will function the way your website was intended to function. This just may help prevent costing you much more than you ever expected and it will also help your business goals to remain on the track to success.

In Web Design Links Reinforce Scannability.

It is a proven fact that online visitors who view a page are generally drawn to images. But aside from that, it is also proven that their attention is also immediately caught by links because they are underlined and set in a different colour from the rest of the text. Your web design company will strictly advice you to make your links stand out in order for them to catch the eye of your readers. Of course, your text content or web copy must able to reinforce scannability of your page. Fortunately, the addition of links that stand out well make the content even more scannable. Bear in mind during web design though that these links will only be effective if they are related to the site content and the linked text. Your web design company should know better.

Web design Tip #1: Links on Your Home Page:

Unless you are web designing a site that is only made of 1 page, your home page should have links to all the other parts of your website. Bear in mind too that most online readers will scan through your home page much more than they are likely to read it, so you need to make sure that your links speak for themselves and are self-explanatory. However, avoid a home page that is made up only of links, and nothing. Doing this will defeat the purpose of scannability; the links will no longer stand out. Also, never make your link title fancy or make your readers guess where the link will lead to. Your web design company will also be pleased if you put in links to the other general pages of your site.

Web design Tip #2: General to Specific is the Way to Go:

When online users search for information, they usually start from the general and eventually get more specific as they try to narrow down their search. Using the same logic, try to think of those links in your site as a funnel. You have to start with a general category at your top page and narrow it down further as your readers search for what they want.

Web design Tip #3: How to Write Links and Setting Them:

Here are some tips to come up with better and more clickable links:

• Check your log files and look for a trend of what people are mostly searching your site for. Use the most commonly used words as your links to other parts of your site.

• You should also verify that your links actually go to where you have implied for them to go. Do not take the risk of ruining your client's image (and that of your web design company) by links that lie. When readers find that the information they are searching for is not there, they will leave and will not likely return.

• Write your links as clearly as possible. If you are linking to an e-book, your text should read something like "this e-Book..." Moreover, the link should actually go to a page with an e-Book in it, and not an online store or a biography of an author.

• When web designing, never make the mistake of playing games with your links. Do not put those links just for the sake of putting them. Your web design company will surely require you to put links that are as straightforward as possible. Remember that your web design company wants to be of service to readers and to the clients to whom you are making the page for. Therefore, make sure that you only put in useful links.

Create links that are incorporated into significant content. Your links should be more than just a list of links that will not make sense on the part of online users. Make sure that the links contain explanations on what it contains. If you are presenting a link that leads to more links, you need to make sure that you add in an explanation of what the readers should expect so that they will not be surprised to see a list of links. Your web design company will indeed appreciate such efforts.

Web Design vs. Print Design: How To Find The Middle Ground

There are a number of web designers who come up with print backgrounds for the sites that they make. These are most likely those who used to be print designers before joining the web design company they are part of now, or they are simply used to the control that is offered by print media. Remember though that print provides stability and permanence, and these two are not present in the Web. Realistically speaking though and speaking from experience if I may add, it is rather easy to forget this.

As you build your web page and have it tested on your browser, you somehow would like it to look exactly how you want it to. However, since your web design company requires you to test it in different browsers, you will see that they look different. As you move from one platform to the next, you will notice that there are slight but uncomfortable differences. This should be a good reminder that web design does not have the permanence and the stability that print does.

On the other hand, as the web designer, your web design company will most likely ask you to work with your customers during the web designing process. One of the most important things that you need to do is to explain to them the difference between the Web and print. Most clients would ask you to provide them your portfolios and web design plans. It is all too common for a web design company to receive customer complaints which stems from the fact that the website is not the exact representation of the print-out. To spare your web design company from this usual trouble, you have to learn how to properly work with your customers:

It is always good to have a portfolio printed out for clients to see. But bear in mind that it is not entirely a representation of your skills in web designs. When you do show them a portfolio, make sure that you also carefully explain to them the differences that they should expect on the final output web page. Make sure that you are upfront with them. If they set specifications for a graphical page and want specific layout, font and other web design elements, make sure that you also mention the possible trade-offs such as in the download speed and maintenance requirements. Lastly, it would be best to know what type of platform your customer will use. If you are a big fan of Netscape on the Mac, while your customer uses Internet Explorer version 7 for the Windows operating system, make sure that you bear this fact in mind when you come up with your designs. The page you come up with during the web design face may look very different on their platform.

So how then can you compromise the difference between web design and print? Well, you mostly need to rely on the web design techniques that you employ.

Here are some tips to help you through this difference:

• Know your audience very well. It is imperative that you know who the potential visitors of the site are and for whom the website is to be made for. Know your client's target audience and their characteristics or behaviors. If they are highly advanced users, they will most likely browse in UNIX or Linux on a 21-inch monitor. If they are rather more conservative, they are likely to use an Internet Explorer 7 on a 14 inch monitor. If your web design best suits your audience, your client will not come back running to your web design company to complain about the final site output.

• Test, test, and test again. You need to test your web design in each and every browser and operating system combination that you can possibly get both your hands on. You can use emulators if you are short of time and if you have no other choice, but nothing beats hands on experience through actual tests and runs.

• Never forget about resolution. Although browsers and operating systems are both important, there is one other factor that you need to consider in site web design. Keep in mind that if your client as well as their target audience will browse your final page on a browser than is smaller than you have designed on, there is a good possibility that they will be unpleasantly surprised. They might come back running to you, and your web design company might not appreciate that very much.

Using CSS can help you get precise layouts, but remember that your web design can never and will never be as precise as print. Remember this as implement the web design of your pages to spare you and your web design company a great deal of stress.

Web Page Design is a Reflection of Your Business

Consider this scenario. You're considering patronizing a certain business, and decide to look it up on the Internet before making your final decision. Up pops their website and it looks like someone went berserk with a web design program. The fonts are either unreadable or the text is so large that it screams at you. The colors clash or are so bright that they hurt your eyes. The pictures are out of focus or so large that the page takes forever to load. Hyperlinks lead nowhere, and the site navigation leaves you perplexed. In a split second, you know that you'll never give this company your business.

This may be an exaggeration, but we've all seen bad web site designs. They infect the Web like a bad head cold that won't let go. You can't help but wonder what the business owner was thinking. After all, why have a website if it reflects poorly on your company or actually drives customers away?

Often, small- and medium-sized business owners aren't aware of the impact that their websites have on customers and potential customers. They may know that having a web site is important, but think that professional webpage design is cost prohibitive. So, they conclude that their child, neighbor, or spouse can put something together and that it will be "good enough." Or, ten years ago they may have actually paid a professional web page designer and having done any modifications for years.

In today's business world, there's no getting around the fact that your web page design is a reflection of your business. Whether yours is an e-commerce site, a lead generation site, or simply a small informational website, you need to put your best (virtual) foot forward and project an image that puts your business in the best possible light. Keep in mind that, if you don't have a good website, your competition probably does and is siphoning customers away from you.

If you've hesitated hiring a business web page designer because of cost considerations, it's time to think again. Unless you need a highly customized, programming intensive site, a web designer isn't going to break the bank. In fact, there are web page design firms that specialize in helping small- to medium-sized businesses succeed in their online endeavors.

Today, a website designer can economically provide you with hundreds of templates from which to choose. These templates come in a variety of styles that are appropriate for a wide range of businesses. A professional web page designer can easily customize templates, giving them images and graphics that will make your website unique.
In addition, a web page design company can provide you with a suite of options that will help you develop your online business. These tools might include a shopping cart, an SSL certificate, free hosting, email accounts, domain registration, and even marketing strategies.

If you don't already have a website, your business needs an online presence. If you haven't updated the design of your company website in two years or more, it's time to consult with a web page design company. And, if you happen to have one of the nightmarish sites that turn potential customers away, it's time to look forward, turn over a new leaf, and hire a professional web page designer.

Website Design: Welcome The White Space

Individuals who are new to website development will often compartmentalize the web page and fill every available space with either text or graphics. After all, why shouldn’t you maximize the site design by including as much information as possible?

There seems to be an underlying fear that if there is ‘white space’ the website will look incomplete. The term white space is a common term in publishing. For instance when a newspaper is developing an advertisement they will seek to allow for some areas of the advertisement to be free from text or graphics. Most publishers have learned that white space provides a sophisticated look while drawing attention to a very specific selling point.

The best way to describe it is to use music as an example. There are times when musicians will use a very roots-oriented approach to their music. They may sing with only a guitar. This approach of stripping away everything else helps the listener experience a more intimate encounter with the music. Sometimes adding more actually reduces the overall effectiveness of the music or, in the case of web design, the message.

If your online visitor has to take a significant amount of time to locate the important information they hoped to find on a web page they will likely lose interest rapidly. Cable television contains reality television shows that attempt to help individuals sell their property. In most cases the very first thing the experts note is the clutter that may be distracting guests from visualizing the possibilities of the property. The experts will generally paint rooms a neutral color and most of the furnishings are removed from the home. The episodes generally end with the homeowners with a contract and very impressive reviews from those attending an open house.

Many web designers are reverting to a more minimalist approach to their webpage design. The use of links is a key strategy while removing unwanted clutter. The use of great photos and a significant amount of organized white space allow visitors to concentrate on the reason they came to the webpage in the first place.

Another reason white space may be an important element in site design is to allow for the inclusion of advertising. If you fill every available space you eliminate advertisement from being a consideration on your webpage. In effect you may be driving away customers and advertisers at the same time.

For some, the thought of intentionally carving out white space in a web design requires a new way of thinking. I would encourage you to take some time and visit some of the most successful websites and see how much white space exists.

Adsense: Google Searcher Psychology For The Adsense Publisher

Have you ever thought of the fact that the visitors to your website are always looking for a solution to solve a problem? or may be they are looking for the opposite, which could mean that they seek pleasure and try to find information about a topic they are very passionate about.

No matter what the Internet surfer searches for, Google will always try to find the website with the most relevant information to what the surfer typed in the search bar. The website at the top of the search results will be the best search engine optimized website with the most relevant information.

This means that Google has indexed that website for that specific search term or keyword phrase.

What does this mean for you as a Adsense publisher?

1. You will have to optimize your website for a specific topic, and use specific keywords that are relevant to that topic in the articles you publish on your website.

2. If you want to keep the visitor on your website you will have to provide good quality content, preferably original self written articles. Google will find that content and provide relevant ads.

3. If you optimize your website for Adsense ads well enough, then visitors that still do not find what they search for, will hopefully leave your website by clicking on one of the Adsense ads.

Optimizing your website for the search engines and the visitor, will be easier if you always keep the searcher in mind and if you ask yourself the following questions:

• If I want to optimize my website for a specific topic, what does Google want me to provide for the visitor?

• If I want to optimize my website for a specific topic, what information does the visitor want to find?

• In case the visitor does not find the information. Can I use this to my advantage by optimizing the layout of my website?

The above described can only be achieved by doing thorough research prior to the creation of the website. Google will reward you for delivering quality information and will give your website a high rank in the search results.

Always remember that if you keep the visitor in mind, creating quality Adsense websites will be so much easier.

You Need Effective Adwords Management

Are you looking for a way to make sure that news of your business gets to more than 75% of the internet? One of the best ways to do this is with the use of Google AdWords. This unique and highly prolific pay per click advertising is one of the best ways to get your name out to the right people, but like any resource, it needs to be used wisely. Good AdWords can help you bring more relevant traffic to your site than other methods as long as you know how to use it appropriately or you employ the services of a Google Qualified company to manage and run your account for you.

Essentially, when you get an account with Google's AdWords program, you will choose a certain set of keywords which pertain to your business. After that, whenever anyone uses those specific words on the Google search engine, a small link to your site will pop up directly to the right of the search results. Whenever anyone uses the link to your site, you will pay Google a small amount of money. You can even set a daily budget, stating that you don't want to spend more than a certain amount of money on this program per day. This is a highly effective form or marketing as it will bring people to your website precisely when they are searching for the services and products that you are offering. This in itself greatly increases the chances of on-site conversions.

The key of course is to have good AdWords management. While the system does sound simple, it can actually be quite complex. How much should you spend a set of keywords? How often should you rotate your adverts? What keywords best represent you to the average web browser? When it comes to AdWords management, it is always a good idea to consult a professional. Why waste time trying to figure out all the tricks and tools that are a part of AdWords when you can just as easily make contact with someone who already knows them? Professional AdWords management can ensure that your advertising matches what you are selling and pulls in the right people to see what you have to offer.

Professional AdWords management will also save you money. The Google AdWords program itself promotes experimenting with keywords to see what will get you the most hits, but this can be time-consuming and tedious. If you use inappropriate keywords one of two things can happen: you'll get no traffic at all, or you will get a rush of traffic from people who were mislead by your keywords. The latter situation is quite common and it can take an inexperienced user a long time to find the right combination of keywords that will bring you the right kind of browser.

When you involve a professional, you can make sure that the experimentation phase of your experience with AdWords is as painless as possible. With the right keywords in place, you can improve your traffic and your sales literally overnight.

Google AdWords is a terrific program to get into in terms of pay per click advertising; just make sure that you have a professional steering your campaign.

Dress Up Your Blog With Widgets

Widget for blog is the mantra that is raging as a top favorite among the blogging fraternity. If anything, a nice piece of widget increases interactivity of a blog, and yes it does a bit of fizz and flamboyance as well. The good news is there is no dearth of widget for blog, and if you’re willing to spend a little of your time, you’ll be spoilt with choices.

But before that, let’s see what is a widget. And what it is that is so exciting about having one or more of it in your blog.

A widget, rather a web widget, is a small chunk of code, usually a JavaScript or a Flash Script, which when embedded in a blog or website, presents a fascinating array of interactive information. The code snippet of widget comes ready for use, and so there’s no need of any programming skill to get going. For example, if you’re a MyBlogLog user, you get a JavaScript widget that shows who among MyBlogLog users are recent readers of a blog or website. Yet another widget shows outgoing links that are clicked by your visitors, updated hourly.

In my blog-site, Kolkata Musing, I use a Widgetbox widget that automatically stores the recent posts. What’s more, it offers readers a no-hassle ready option to include the widget of my posts in their website. Cool indeed.

Okay, what Widgetbox does is reading the rss feed of a blog, and presenting the latest entries in an eye-catching fashion. As the feed updates with addition of posts, so does the widget, wherever it may be residing.

This is pretty much the same what many other widget management systems offer, for example SpringWidgets, owned by the same company that owns MySpace. In fact if you’re using the syndicated content service of FeedBurner (now owned by Google) like this blog, you may use the syndicated feed to create a widget for embedding in any website.
Wordpress, the popular blogging platform, allows a wide variety of blog-related widgets, like calendar, recent posts, recent comments, and so on that can be chosen to be shown in the sidebar of the blog.

Yet another popular widget from WhoLinked, when placed in your website, allows you to see real-time all the incoming links to it. Now that we’ve good idea about what a widget for blog can be, let’s see some of the popular widget management systems that are there to explore.

Here’s a list of them about which the readers can find out more:

1. FunAdvice Widgets
2. Grazr
3. MuseStorm
4. Snipperoo
5. SpringWidgets
6. Widgetbox
7. Widgetoko
8. Widgets Lab
9. yourminis

Some widgets you get to see in the sites above are so cool that you may feel inclined to include quite a few of them in your site. Better don’t. Not for any apparent reason, but for the fact that the script that accompanies each widget takes time to load fully, and if several of them are there, then your blog page will take lot of time to display its full content.

Remember you’ll normally have other JavaScript that are important for your blog. So, use widget for blog with care.

Advertise On My Site! - A Complete Review.

Undoubtedly one of the hottest trends on the Internet today is blogging. The numbers are simply mind-boggling if one has to compare the number of blogs that have been created. This is an incredible way to interact with people who share similar interests and likes as you. This new world serves as a great networking tool. In fact I first discovered this when I decided to advertise on my blog.

At times I post freelance writing jobs on my blog for other writers. Employers advertise on my site indirectly. On the other hand this service is extremely appreciated by a number of my visitors who are in search for work. Instead of visiting countless web pages, many writers come directly to my blog to see what I advertise on my site.

Personally I like consistency so I prefer to take on solid projects with reliable clients. Nonetheless, there is something very appealing about the thrill of the chase. Despite the fact that I don’t advertise on my site to find work for myself however I do get a kick out of hunting down the offers. Besides I appreciate the feedback given from the writers who find work through my blog. I simply cannot imagine looking for work on a daily basis. Well, actually, I can because I do search every day. Frankly speaking I really can’t imagine relying on the search for my livelihood.

A number of the readers who visit the blog sometimes leave messages just to let me know that they were hired for one project or another. For sure, these messages make my day! I’m happy to know that the site is doing some good. Unfortunately, one of my readers became offended that I use Google advertisements on my site. Indeed she wanted to know why I advertise on my blog for profit. Well, the profit is quite small. In fact I have found that writers are not really clickers. And in my opinion I also think that clicking on one or two ads is not a big price for the service I provide. Now this brings to mind the question about blog etiquette. A lot of seasoned bloggers get aggravated by the site of advertisements. Nevertheless, these readers should consider the purpose of the site before passing judgment.

The reason behind why I advertise on my site is because it offers a valuable service. Of course, the reader has the option of scrolling down past the advertisements if he isn’t happy with them. There is absolutely no obligation at all to click on an ad. The fact is that several of my readers commented that they didn’t even notice that I advertise on my blog until the complaint was posted on my site. I’d like to thank that person for complaining. This way my readers are taking time to give me a few clicks now!

A Beginner’s Guide To Web Hosting

For many people using the internet is a daily occurrence, whether it be for work or leisure, shopping or gaining information. While many of these people are confident in how to use the internet, and what it can do for them, there are also many people who have no idea of how it works, or what they would need to do to get their own website.

Every single website on the internet, be it the one page site of an individual or a huge, multi-page website of an international company, has the same principle behind them. In order for their website to be visible to the millions of internet users it must be displayed through the services of a web hosting company.

Web hosting is basically the process of providing a service which enables your website to be viewed online. This can only be done by these service providers as it is only them who have computers, much like your own, which are directly connected to the internet. These computers are used solely to serve up websites onto the internet, lending them their official name of “servers”.
The web host will generally host many thousands of web sites and as such they require a very fast connection to the internet. They have a set amount of access to the internet, which they rent out to people who want their own online web site.

As the internet has grown in popularity, the renting of space has become financially rewarding. As such, more companies are trying to get involved in it. You may find that you are dealing with the company that owns that main server directly, or you may find you are renting your space from a company who, in turn, are renting their space from a larger web hosting company. In this case, the server of the smaller company is linked to the server of the larger company, so it is the larger company who actually enable your website to be viewed online. It is really inconsequential to the website owner whether they are dealing with the main company directly or a smaller subsidiary as the end result is the same.

This information is just the basics of how the internet and web sites work. In order to have your own web site you need to do more than just rent space from a web hosting company. For example, you will need to create the site itself, either personally or by hiring the services of a professional. However, whatever you do to make your web site vibrant, attractive or interesting will be totally useless without ensuring you have paid a web hosting company to actually put it online for you.

A Beginners Guide To Blogging: How To Start A Blog

It is logical for a beginners guide to blogging to begin with information on how to start a blog. However, first a brief introduction to what a blog actually is. A blog is nothing more than your online diary or journal, in which you can express your feelings, thoughts, and opinions or even advertise your products. There are few rules apart from keeping it clean. For that reason they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and designs, and your blog page is literally yours to anything you want with.

You can include pictures, hyperlinks to your websites, MP3s and videos. Much depends on the type of blog you have and who is the provider, but Wordpress allows more than Blogger or Blogspot, especially if you have downloaded it to your own website. However, it is also more complicated and you might prefer to start off easy and then work your way up as you become more familiar with what you are doing. Many cPanel web hosts offer Wordpress facilities.

The basic components of a blog are:

Title: You can use the title to label your posting.Category: You can add a category to keep blogs on similar topics together.Body: This is the main content of the blog.Trackback: This allows other sites to link back to your blog.Permalink: This is the URL that goes with every blog that you write.Comments: This allows readers to make comments on your blog – some good, and some bad.

By means of just one or two templates you can easily create new pages. It’s a bit like having a website and copying your home page as a template for all the rest of the pages, only the blog template is blank with spaces for the title, category and all the other aspects of your blog. The blogging websites that you sign up with offer a number of templates and you can choose one and literally start blogging immediately.

Blogging can be more that just your own personal thing, and you can join groups that blog about specific topics, such as football, movies, music, blogging, etc, etc. You can all share your expertise and knowledge and some are literally operating as forums. You can also use your blog to advertise a product, and to drive traffic to your website, while others have no website and use their blog as their sole communications window on the internet.

I could go on all day about what you can do and, sometimes, cannot do with a blog, but the best way is to get started and then find what you are capable of. The best way is to log onto the blog provider of your choice and sign up for a blog. Most newcomers to blogging find it easiest to start blogging from a provider’s website, and then graduating to installing blogging software on their own website.

This is a bit trickier, but it allows you use all the plugins that allow total personalization of your blog so that it is completely unlike that of anybody else. You cannot use plugins when you run your blog from the provider’s site, whether it is Wordpress or any other blog. You cannot beat having your own blog software and being able to design any page that you want.

However, although this sounds great to be able to do, on the whole you are likely best to start blogging from the blog hosting site, and then graduate to your own website once you are comfortable with blogging. You will have enough to take in and learn when you upload to your own web space without having to worry about how blogging works.

Blogging is fantastic fun, and it can also be very profitable. However, there are specific techniques involved in making money using blogs, and it is very easy to get your fingers burnt if you are unaware of the pitfalls and the right way to do it. Nevertheless, blogging can be very rewarding, both personally and financially, so best of luck, and get blogging now. Don’t leave it a minute longer because you might have a lot to learn yet.

Once you have learned how to start a blog, then you can think of running your own from your own website.

Shoot Yourself to the Zenith of Adsense Income

Well the basic principle behind it is writing good enough content to attract good enough ads for people to click on.

1. Article Submission. This One of the best ways you can get traffic. You write an article and submit it to article directories. Obviously you write articles based on what your site’s content is focused on. I would strongly recommend writing original articles (like I do) and not just copy and paste other people’s works and brand it your own. It is unethical and if Google picks it up, it can punish you. It does no good to your credibility too.Do a search on Google for “article directories” and sign up for at least 6. Write at least 2 articles a day and submit them for a month. I am not lying, at the end of the month, if you do not see a significant amount of traffic gushing in; you can email me from my website and curse at me. If you bear to.

2. Forum PostingsThis method coupled with the above method would give you a super healthy does of one way back links. Sign up, again, for 5 forums (related to your site) and try to post actively in all of them. It create tons of one way links and also, if you have built a good relationship with the community there, you can even blatantly promote your site.

3. AdwordsYes you can combine Adwords and Adsense together and still make a profit. You simply use leverage. Heard of Adwords Arbitrage? You bid for keywords that are low yet you maintain high paying Adsense ads. Is it possible? Yes. Do your research and send only the cheapest possible traffic for search engine bidding. The key here is not to be laser targeted keywords, they can be off a little but they need to be cheap. Another way is to simply set separate content bids for content advertising. Set it very cheaply and it will drive traffic quickly also.

Tips For Maximum Adsense Content Relevancy

One of the most essential aspects of getting the most out of your involvement with Google’s Adsense program is to be certain that Google serves up the most relevant ads possible on your site. The concept is easy to grasp--visitors travel to your sites in search of certain content on their topic of interest. If they see advertisements directly related to those content desires, they are far more likely to click on the ads than if they encounter only tangentially related material or, in a worst case scenario, ads that are not even related to their interests. As such, it is in your best interests to make sure your site displays relevant ads.

Here are few tips for improving your content relevancy to produce more accurately targeted contextual advertising from Adsense.

1.Before you even begin to use Adsense as a monetization tool, make sure there are relevant ads for your site or pages. In most cases, you will have determined this long before you even embarked on site design or content development. However, if you are thinking of adding Adsense to an existing site built with other monetization strategies originally in mind, you may not have bothered checking to see if other advertisers were going after that particular market. Be sure you are addressing a topic for which ads exist in sufficient quantity. If related advertising is sparse, it will difficult to avoid irrelevant ads.

2. You do not want content that is overstuffed with particular keywords to point of destroying readability and value, but you do want to make sure your materials make liberal use of on-topic keywords likely to spawn the most relevant possible ads. Experts maintain that using keywords with your titles and H1 tags is an excellent way to assist in getting the most relevant possible ads. This has added advantages in terms of search engine optimization, as well.

3. Once upon a time, metatags were a critical aspect of search engine optimization in general. Although the engines rely upon metatags far less than they once did, there is some evidence to suggest that using ad-triggering keywords in your pages’ meta-tags may increase the relevance of the advertisements displayed. This strategy may help, and it certainly cannot hurt.

4. Many sites to a great job of supplying content related to particular themes or keywords in the main portion of a page, but have sidebars, headers and footers filled with less targeted terms and material. Take a long look at your navigational elements and other “side of the page” text and remove keyword terminology that may be leading to irrelevant ad service. Alternatively, you can use Adsense’s section targeting tool to remove those areas from Adsense’s consideration completely, so long as you do not plan to display ad blocks or ad link units in those areas.

5. You want to keep content tightly themed. That means you do not want to feature long, rambling articles that cover multiple topics. Instead, rely upon materials that address singular issues. You also do not want to feature multiple chunks of content on disparate matters on the same page for that very same reason. The value of tight theming may extend past individual pages. Many publishers argue that Adsense tends to reward tightly-themed overall sites with more relevant ads, as well. Even though this aspect of theming is not as well researched and proven, it makes sense to follow the practice, because of the search engine optimization advantages of having a focused site.

6. Monitor your site regularly and take note when irrelevant ads appear. Then, take the time to add them to your blacklist for the site. Google does give you the ability to block individual ads via the Competitive Ad Filter. If you block out commonly served irrelevant ads, you may improve your chances of featuring more ads upon which your visitors will actually click.

The more contextually relevant the ads appearing on your site are, the more clicks you can expect to see. As such, it is important to make an effort to use a combination of proven SEO methods that also work well with Adsense and some program-specific maneuvers to secure the best possible ads on your site.
