4 Steps to Unbeatable Advertising

1. Negotiate Have you noticed that some people seem to always get the best deals? You pay full price and think you did ok until they show up with the same thing, only they paid several hundred dollars less. It really get your goat.

How do they do it?

They're not afraid to ask for an extra discount. Yes, don't sell yourself short because you didn't ask the next time your advertising makes an appearance. Even if you're already getting a discount, ask for a bigger one. You have not because you ask not.

2. Trim Bigger is always better or is it? When it comes to advertising, don't be surprised if some of your short ads meet with more success than larger more expensive ads. Trimming down on the size and cost of advertising doesn't mean you'll be trimming the results.

3. Exploit the FreebiesWhat's the difference between advertising and publicity? ...who's doing the talking. Yeah, when you sell yourself, it's advertising. When someone else is selling you, it's publicity...and it generates credibility and interest that you don't want to miss out on. Think about the different ways you can get your business in the spotlight. Do you have some news… write a press release? Write some "how to" articles with a short byline at the end and release them to ezines, magazines, newspapers, and other publishers. Why not promote the product of a non-competitor in return for them promoting yours...think of the totally different market they affect. Yep, there are a lot of ways out there to get free advertisement that will benefit your business. Of course you won't be able to rely solely on the freebies, but hey, you can get a little extra for nothing.

4. Improve Your Offer Is your deal too good to pass up? If not, you need to improve it. Hey, I'm not talking about cutting prices even more...you've still got to make a profit. You can make the deal sweeter just by increasing the readers knowledge of the value of the product, or adding bonuses that are perceived as valuable, but cost you little.
Motivate buyers with expirations. Yeah, an open ended offer encourages procrastination...which leads ...yep, nowhere. When the customer knows he has until Saturday to purchase an item he'll pay more for on Sunday, he'll make it a priority to head for your shop. Advertising doesn't have to wipe out your bank account to be effective. When you learn to negotiate, know when smaller ads are as effective as large ads, ask for discounts, and create an irresistible offer, you're on your way to skyrocketing profit margins.

Tips for Uploading Photos to MySpace

One of the most important things to remember when uploading files to MySpace is that these files may be seen by many people. This is especially important for those who are uploading pictures of themselves to place on their MySpace website. Members are not required to place a photo of themselves on their profile but many users do include a photo so those who visit their website have a visual image of the member.

Users may place an embarrassing photo of themselves thinking only their friends will see this photo but in reality many other members and nonmembers may view this photo as well. This other members may include potential bosses, neighbors or others who might be shocked by these photos.

Parents of children who use MySpace should also exercise caution when allowing their children to post their photos on their MySpace profile. There are many harmful predators on the Internet and many of these predators are seeking young children to prey upon. Parents should carefully consider whether or not they want to allow their child to add a picture to their profile. Alternately, parents might recommend their children use a picture that represents a hobby of theirs or a favorite cartoon character instead of their own photo. When posting a picture of an object or character care should be taken to ensure posting the photo is not a violation of copyrights associated with the photo.

Uploading Photos and Videos to MySpace

Uploading photos to your MySpace account is fairly simple. First you must log into your account and then click on the links that says, “Add/edit photos.” You then receive a warning stating that photos which include nudity, violent or offensive materials or copyrighted images are not permitted. You are also given the option of making photos visible to only you or to everyone. You can then browse through your hard drive to find the desired photo. Photos uploaded to MySpace must be .gif or .jpg format and must be smaller than 600k. Once you find an appropriate photo, click upload and the photo will be added to your account.

Once a photo is added you can create a caption for this photo.
MySpace members can search through existing video clips on MySpace to find video clips to add to their website. They can also upload their own videos for use on their website and for others to share. When uploading videos to MySpace, members should be sure to read the terms and conditions to ensure the video they are posting is permissible. Uploading pornography or other objectionable materials may result in the member having his MySpace account deleted.

Internet web site advertising seems to be the Topic of the day.

Internet Web Site Advertising - Legendary

Internet web site advertising seems to be the Topic of the day. And I thought that instead of ignoring that fact with senseless personal anecdote, I’d give in to greater office pressure and write about it. I’m nervous, but here we go. Oh, wait, before I get into that I want to tell you why. The why part is because normally I’m a little cynical. When I am supposed to research some topic and I do, I usually fill with a little bit of disgust. I don’t think that that’s out of line, considering to the things I read.

But, today as I’m reading about web site advertising I had that familiar tinge of bile backing up in my throat and I was thinking about how I could articulate my inevitable irritation that would inevitably turn into full blown madness. And then, of all things, this author started making sense. Even though he’s talking about web site advertising and I typically have sorts of rage (legitimate or not…probably not) about that particular subject, I started getting down with what this person’s saying. So, without further delay, I will quickly tell you what I think about all this internet web site advertising deal.

But, I’ll do it with an anecdote. But, this time it’s relevant. We were making a web site for a company I was working with. We had very little money and the primary financial backer of the project wasn’t too interested in internet advertising. Finally, he was convinced to get a web site made for us, but on a shoestring budget. It was fine, but quite low budget and the designer we got did just that, design.

The little work that was put into traffic generation reaped an equal amount of response—a little. Well, that business has just been sold to a company that has been known to focus intently on the other aspects of internet web site advertising. They have gone to great lengths with their previous businesses to develop their site to meet their customer’s needs, utilize various links to bring customers to their site, etc.

I look forward to seeing the remarkable progress that the company will make with their new vision of utilizing internet technology. I wish them the best, but probably that won’t be necessary.
